Core Responsibilities
- Cultivation and culture of non-transgenic plants for research across the university's biological institutes.
- Management and maintenance of experimental series in greenhouses and open-field plots.
- Cultivation and culture of plants for practical exercises and courses in plant physiology, biochemistry, and cell biology.
- Procurement and provision of plant material for botanical identification courses.
- Provision of cultivation and experimental plots.
- Maintenance of the seed bank (supplying seeds for research and teaching via international seed exchange with other scientific institutions, including the Brassicaceae collection).
- As a teaching facility, the nursery maintains an extensive plant collection (tropical and subtropical plants, succulents, ferns and mosses, aquatic plants, and temperate-zone plants).
- Guided tours available by special announcement.
Information for Apprentices
